I had to hire a private investigator to find out where he was working, so that I could bring a lawsuit. They picked him up on the street. They didn’t even want to take him to the hospital. They wanted to disavow any relationship with him whatsoever. So it’s not only that they’re exposed to more hazards by virtue of being untrained and placed in the type of hazardous jobs that union workers would not be subjected to, but once an accident happens, they’re victimized yet again, by not being able to avail themselves of the safeguards under the law, by bringing an action because people want to forget they ever existed.
